From Fame, to Hairspray, to last year's stunning version of Hello Dolly!, Lusher's annual Fall Musical has become an institution. This year, a cast of students accompanied by Lusher's own stage crew and orchestra presents Pippin, and it's as likely to amaze as it is to sell out. Pippin is a musical about a prince who learns the true meaning of glory, love and war in this iconic musical allegory with an infectiously unforgettable score from the four-time Grammy-winner, three-time Oscar-winner, and musical theatre giant Stephen Schwartz. Leslie Jacobs, Vice Chair of the New Orleans Business Alliance, was awarded the Citizen Leadership Award by the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) for her extraordinary commitment in promoting economic development. The honor was presented on Tuesday, October 21 during IEDC’s Annual Conference in Fort Worth, TX.
"The Citizen Leadership Award celebrates a community or business leader, or an individual who is not an economic development specialist, but who plays a major leadership role in economic development pursuits," said William C. Sproull, IEDC chair. “Ms. Jacobs is a fine example of such an individual.”
On this billboard located on W. Judge Perez Drive in front of the Walmart in St. Bernard Parish, District Attorney candidate Glenn Diaz found his expensive sign had an unwelcome addition: Horns. Halloween or campaign prank? The problem is the candidate says his signs are being stolen, cut in half and vandalized even in front of homes and businesses. He's willing to talk about it. Call: Glenn Diaz (504) 329-9752.
